India has a network of over 150,000 kilometers of national highways, connecting key cities and regions across the country.
The Golden Quadrilateral, a highway network connecting Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata, spans over 5,846 kilometers and is one of the largest highway projects in India.
National Highways account for approximately 2% of India's total road network, but carry about 40% of the country's road traffic.
